Bali Iyengar Yoga Retreat with Anandi 12 - 18 September 2027
Come and join us for a 6 night Iyengar Yoga Retreat near Ubud, Bali from 12th–18th September 2027. Imagine morning yoga in a beautiful jungle facing open studio surrounded by rice terraces, birdsong and fresh tropical air.
The retreat includes six days of yoga and six nights accommodation with breakfast at the beautiful Shala Bali retreat.
With time for massages, spa treatments, relaxing by the 20m pool, walks through the rice paddies and exploring Ubud's incredible cafes, restaurants and shops — this is a very special retreat, set in nature yet just a walkable distance from the heart of Ubud and the charming village of Penestanan.
Where You'll Stay
The Shala Bali is a real delight — far enough from the hustle and bustle to feel like a total retreat, yet close enough to walk into the heart and buzz of Ubud with its many shops and restaurants. It's also a short stroll to the village of Penestanan and its incredible cafés, and just across the road from the much-loved Indus Restaurant. Surrounded by coconut trees and rice paddies, it's a place you'll never want to leave.
Rooms
We've reserved the deluxe rooms, each with a rice field or garden view. They come with ensuite bathrooms, natural shampoo and body wash, tea-making facilities, a cotton mosquito net, a safe, purified water, ceiling fans and air conditioning. Rooms are cleaned daily and can be made up as king or twin.
Food
Our included vegetarian breakfast buffet is served each morning at the on-site café, right near our rooms. The on-site restaurant is open daily from 7am–9pm (last order 7.30pm). Nearby, Mumbai Station — a vegetarian Indian café opposite Indus — serves some of the best dosas around.
Pool & Wellness
A 20-metre saltwater infinity pool with a stunning deck to relax around, plus an on-site Ayurvedic spa and several other excellent spas close by. Between classes, we recommend a poolside afternoon or a well-earned massage — perhaps saving your Ubud and Penestanan exploring for before or after the retreat.
The Studio
110m², facing the jungle and beautifully cool for daily practice. Fully equipped with yoga chairs, blocks, blankets, and wall ropes.

Who It's For
Open to anyone with some experience of Iyengar Yoga. Expect guidance from Anandi on using yoga equipment and precise alignment tailored to your level — around 26 hours of yoga over 7 days, with Anandi staying on-site with you throughout.
Beyond the Mat
Ubud itself is a walkable distance away - shops, cafes and restaurants to get lost in, full of vibrancy and culture. Or stay and unwind in the peace and quiet of The Shala.
The Shala Bali has its own Ayurvedic Spa on site, with many other fabulous spas close by. Between yoga classes, we recommend relaxing by the pool or treating yourself to a massage — save the exploring of Ubud and Penestanan for before or after the retreat, so you can fully unwind during it.
Spaces Are Limited
The retreat is filling now. If your soul is calling for a week of bliss, mindful movement, community and rejuvenation, we'd love to welcome you — please get in touch.
Planning Your Trip
Please arrange your own flights and travel insurance, ideally arriving in Bali a couple of days before the retreat begins. Want to extend your stay before or after? Let Anandi know early, as extra nights book out quickly. Need ideas for accommodation or things to do? Just ask Anandi.
